JUDGES

As you register, you identify which divisions you are eligible to judge. For EVERY judging option, you must bring enthusiasm and a sincere desire to encourage middle and high school students.

You complete general online training in advance. On Fair Day, your time commitment is about six hours. The fair provides coffee, lunch, on-site training, experienced team captains, and secure space for deliberations.

Qualifications
  • Senior Research and Engineering Design: College degree in a STEM field or education, 10 years professional STEM experience, or journeyman’s status
  • Junior Research and Topic Presentations: High school diploma
  • Special Awards: Interest in STEM (an appropriate division for High School Science Honor Society members) and other people who care.

  • Judging 101: Learn about the judging process in a Terra Fair.
  • Judging rubrics: Your guides to interviewing and evaluating projects
  • Sample judging schedule: (This is only for in-person fairs) Learn about your schedule during judging.
