The Society for Science and the Public has announced the first-ever Middle School Research Teachers Conference. This peer-led professional development conference is for middle school teachers who have an interest in leading students in science research (science fair-type) projects. Fifty teachers will be selected via lottery to come to Washington, DC, all-expenses-paid, for a weekend of sharing best practices and troubleshooting challenges. Equal proportions of novice, intermediate, and veteran science research teachers will be selected to attend.
This year’s conference will take place on October 11-13, 2019. Those unable to attend these dates should sign up to be eligible for future special opportunities with the Society. The lottery sign-up will close August 15, 2019, and those selected will be notified by August 20, 2019. Expenses for travel, lodging, and meals will be covered by the Society for all attendees.
